PETER FIELD TROPHY - NORTHWOOD 20th JULY 2014
Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Pam Hazledine who was unable to attend and run the event on the day, and thanks to Jason Flynn for standing in and ensuring that the day went smoothly.
A nice turnout of 16 teams from Northwood, Taverners, Manston Flyers, Brown Jug D, Herne Bay Gulls, Horse and Groom A and the Yellabacks took part on a day where some light rain became a welcome relief from the heat. Two leagues of 5 and one of 6 played in good conditions and after lunch the knock-out stage took place. After the first knock-out the semi-finalists were
Chris Beer and Russell Maxted Horse and Groom A) v Maz Munday and Jay Bugden (Northwood)
Val Robbins and Peter Munday (Northwood) v Alan Martin and Rob Sheridan (Yellabacks)
The final was won by Chris and Russell who beat Alan and Rob 13-8 making them winners of the event for the third year in succession. They asked if they can now keep the trophy but the feeling was that they would need to win for at least 10 years for this to happen!
